Potluck Housewarming Party (Entry Pekasam)

Salam to all..again i left my blog for ages..sorry to anybody(if there's any lah kan..hihi) who is waiting for me to write our latest story. Ok let's talk about our-not-so-recent housewarming party, which actually has been held on Saturday,16/11/13.

At first, i was thinking to do 2 housewarming parties. One for warga Bradford (we call Rumpun group in fb) and one for my fellow friends in Stafford/Stoke of course. But then I've been told that few of them were on holiday in Malaysia. So kensel lah kan. Will do some other time. So for warga Rumpun, i decided to cook nasi lemak for this time. Maklumlah, baru lepas raya haji..we wanted to eat something else rather than rendang and nasi minyak. The good thing is warga Rumpun like to help the tuan rumah by bringing some food as well (potluck). Alhamdulillah senang kerja. Really much appreciated that.

So the guests started to come around 1 pm, with a lot of tasty food in their hands :) So delish! There were sambal tumis Kelantan version, ayam goreng berempah, lemon chicken, yummy and scrumptious puddings and deserts. But there was one dish i was so surprised when i see it. Pasemboq habaq ang! Weh!! Lamanya tak makan..esoknya kuah kacang dok ada lagi pulun buat cucuq tapi tak jadi pun. T_T .. Hostest the mostest plan nak masak nasik and prepare salad je as that what has been discussed in my mesyuarat tingkap dengan kak nur and kak husna last time. But then i changed my mind so i cook the sambal tumis and bilis goreng as well. Tolong top up kak nur punya.

I also tried to occupy the kids with some art n' craft activity too so i have prepared some crafty things like pipe cleaners, buttons, pens and foam stickers, to be put on a foam keyring. The idea was after decorating they can bring them back as a gift. I even saw some of them (girls especially) made a necklace out of it. Creative tau! Unfortunately i didn't got a chance to take a photo of them doing it, or when all the delicious food were set on the table. Yang ada cuma gambar di awal2 dan di hujung2 hari kejadian..redho je yek..

And when the time was nearly 6pm, when one by one started to leave, i sent them off with my little thankful door gifts. Thank you for coming, thank you for bringing good food, and thank you for welcoming us in Rumpun.

Happy Birthday to Us! Eid Mubarak to You!

Assalamualaikum dan Salam Aidiladha semua..Wah wah..akhirnya dapat kuhapdet berita sensasi dari Bradford. Alhamdulillah dah selamat kami bermastautin dan menjadi warga kota Bradford. Walaupong tak habih cover lagi, tapi so far kami semua seronok di sini.


Seperti tajuk filem di atas, aku dan incek zaid sambut besday secara sederhana je kat rumah baru. Besday iols lapanharibulansepuluh haritu dan besday beliau semalam limabelasharibulansepuluh. Birthday aku seminggu yang lepas jatuh sehari selepas kitorang berpindah ke Bradford. Hari tu Zaid masih cuti. Aku mulanya taknak gi memana sebab aku nak mengemas je. Tapi Zaid beria-ia ajak so taknak durhaka ikot jelah kan. Hewhewhew..Kitorang gi jalan-jalan ke city centre punyalah jakun happy sebab ada KFC dan Nandos halal. Kahkah! Pathetic sungguh..Zaid bawak makan di Nandos dan kebetulan pulak hari kerja dan time tu dah lepas lunch time, maka tak ramai orang la kat situ.

Dah makan-makan dan jalan-jalan kitorang pun balik rumah. Rumah kitorang kat Laisterdyke,Bradford, dalam 10 minit dari city centre. Sampai je kat pekan dekat rumah kitorang tu tiba-tiba ternampak satu kedai patisserie ni..

Kat kedai ni bukan je ada jual kek, tapi macam2 jenis manisan dan juga ada cafe kalau nak makan dan minum kat situ. Boleh like facebook Zoya kalau nak tengok menu dia. Bukan desert saje, Italian food like lasagna, spaghetti, steak dan makanan Asia pun ada. Yang pasti halalun toyyibah :) Hari tu kami pegi disambut chef dia/baker brother Luqman namanya. Masa nak beli aku tanya apa nama kek ni (sebab takde label/nama/price). Pastu bro Luqman tu terus explain satu2 semua kek kat situ, siap panjang lebar ala-ala masterchep punya tajuk makanan. Hahaha!

Semalam pulak birthday Zaid dan jugak Hari Raya Haji. Tapi dia keje. So takdelah nak beli kek apa. Cuma masakkan rendang dan nasi jugak nasi ayam madu. Malam semalam juga kami dijemput beraya ke rumah blogger Kak Nur. Akhirnya berkenalan jugak in person dengan Kak Nur dan family dia. Such a nice person and so others Malaysian friends di Bradford. Time kasih jemput. Sedap macam-macam ada, sate, nasi ayam, kek, sambal sotong..kenyang perut sukahati. Hehe.. Si Fahim Zidane as usual, sampai drama dulu. Pastu nampak abg Danish ajak main terus lepas tu buat muka-tak-malu-kelebek-kabinet-dapo-tawaf-satu-rumah haishhh -_-'. Sayangnya terlupa nak bergambo ngan tuan tanah.

Ok..that's it. Cerita pasal rumah kita simpan dulu for next entry. Haha! Jangan marah aa.. Sebab belom habih kemas betul2. Nanti dah siap kita amik gambo. Harap bersabo. Sebagai penghargaan pada kesabaran anda..nah intro umah baru.. Gambo masa hari pindah itu hari..

Goodbye Stafford. Hello Bradford!

Salam.. I have to write a quick update about the moving after hubby warned me that it might takes some time to activate our internet connection in Bradford. We sold and donate few unwanted items such as fridge freezer (because our landlord has provided a new one), iron, shoes, dinnerware, clothes and baby stuff and toys. Starting tomorrow our current internet connection will be deactivated. Therefore, I'm not able to update anything on the blog until we have one later.  Takpe, facebook and instagram ada.. :)

We're also have successfully bought 2 stairgates for Fahim's safety. We went to Kiddicare at Dudley today and really looking forward to try them in our new home. Hope it fits well. Wait for the cool photo of him standing next to the stairgate.. ;)

Oh yes..I almost forget to show you this..

It happened on Wednesday evening when Simone came to have dinner at mine. Zaid was in Leeds for the whole weekdays. Fahim looked so happy on that day, he even wanted to play and sat next to her. I think he's missing his daddy.

Another friend came to have a 'goodbye cuppa' on Friday was Dalina. Thanks for the gift for my cheeky monkey. :) Sedih betul tak de gamba padahal last weekend kitorang lunch kat umah dia. Dan buat semua kawan-kawan Stafford-Stoke..don't forget to call us when you do raya makan2 okey! Tak panggil siaappp...! Haha!

So tomorrow morning the man from removal company will come and do all the packing and on Monday morning we'll be leaving from Stafford to our new home in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Hope everything will be fine. Amin..

Selling off my kawaii cake stand!

After almost 2 years you've been serving your master's-finest-bakes, it's time to say sayonara to my kawaii-ever cake stand. I love you my darling. Be good to your new master okay!

Mode sedey la sangat! Haha! I'm gonna sell the cake stand since we'll be moving out soon. Banyak sangat barang nak get rid. So far I'm selling my stuff on ebay. Baju, kasut, sofa, carpets, baby stuff...

Selalunya takdelah sentimental sangat bila nak get rid barang sebab everytime pindah rumah ni lah keje iols. Tapi bila tang cake stand ni macam ada syahdu skit. Lol!

Ada yang berkenan? Hehe..yang di uk jelah. Jangan segan hallo2 k, murah je..selagi belum ada orang bid iols boleh cancel kat ebay. Semoga cake stand saya mendapat tuan yang baik ati macam tuan dia. :)

I'm Baaaackkkk! What's New About Me?

Ya ampun...lamanya tak hapdet belog.gile bersawang-sawang dah seropa rumah antu.Hihi.. Elok sangat la sempena Halloween aritu. Baek, first of all.. i would like to apologize to those waiting for my updates. Frankly speaking, my first trimester experience wasn't nice at all,except that I knew there're a (yes only one,CONFIRM) tiny human soul lived in my womb. I've been ignored the outside world (including shopping, jalan-jalan, outdoor activities) for almost 3 months. Dan yang paling kelakar, setiapkali aku nak log in blogspot, aku rasa nak termuntah. Hahaha!! Adoyaii..

Sekarang aku dah 17 weeks.. Alhamdulillah, kesihatan semakin baik, perasaan pun semakin happy (most of the time for no reasons) :p Masa kandungan 12 minggu, buat pertama kalinya aku dan zaid 'dating' dengan 'dia'. Subhanallah........ both of us were speechless when seeing this,

...when we listened to his heartbeat, when he moved around (dia duduk tak diam,ikot sapala ni :p) and when the stenographer asked me to cough hardly,so that she could capture more pics of him. That was amahhhhzinggg! Alhamdulillah, baby sihat. The only thing that we are eager to know right now is the gender. Whether it's going to be blue or pink. We will know in 3 weeks time. C'mon guys, let's start guessing now! :D

As for now, lemme introduce you my new neighbour. We've just met this morning, at first she was just starring at me from far, then I called her few times but she didn't say anything, only stared. She maybe realized that I am a good neighbour so she came to knock my door eventually. Ahahh.. tau pun!

Haa..ni khas untuk kekakak Dd & Zie :p Sayangnya gambau ambik ngan henpon, so takleh prove kat kekakak yang selalu encourage aku ambik gambau lelaki hensem ala model GQ kekdahnya tetapi bekerja sebagai kuli. Serius kekakak sekalian, posmen ni smart woh, tak tipu. Hari-hari hantar surat jalan kaki je. :p

Another 'contaminated story' (cerita basi), ialah cerita sambutan birthday kitorang (aku & zaid). Memang buat korang bebulu je baca entry ni, segala macam cerita dalam 3 bulan aku compact kan masuk 1 entry. Jangan marah..nak tau sangat kan... :p

Sebelum aku akhiri entry ni (dan taktau la kurun keberapa pulak aku akan rajin berbelog lagi), aku nak ucapkan Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha buat family terchenta, sedara mara dan kengkawan serta bloggers semua. Kalau makan sup gear box tu ingat-ingatlah kami di perantauan ni eh..hihi. Till we meet again, daa...

p/s Oh ye selain tu nak buat pengumuman sket, beza waktu antara UK-Msia dah jadi 8 jam. Our clock jumps an hour backward. -_- I don't blame you if you don't bother..

Rosy's House Warming

I have almost forgotten about this. I should write about how Rosy's house has impressed me so much. Rosy is my friend and we met when we're working together last year. She's from Peru and married to an english man. The funny thing was both me and Simone couldn't stop touring inside the house as we have been enliven by the interior, and of course.. the conservatory. It is massive!

I love her kitchen as she got semi-open concept plus the large windows to let sunlight in. Rosy said it took about 6 months to complete all the process including renovation, painting and planting the lawn (tanam rumput sendiri, wowieee!)

I love the colour that she painted for the wall. Most of them were white, grey, cream and mocha. She has even put less furniture and that makes us could not agree more that 'less is definitely more'. ;)

Simone was giggling madly when Rosy agreed to bring her upstairs. Lol!

we didn't miss the bathroom as well, hahaha!

"I wanna dressing room like Sex in the City!" she said.

We've been tempted by a delicious seafood paella (like nasi goreng seafood) after had a cuppa and biscuits. And not to forget, a piece of strawberry cheesecake..mmm!

Mr. and Mrs. D.I.Y

Last week we have received a dining table that we've ordered about 2 months ago. It seems like waiting for years to get the table. This is all because we bought it online. What happen to the old one? We gave it to Syazwan, Akmar & their house mates after knowing that they will also move to a new house. We did let go few other stuff too such as a tv, a tv bench and a side table.

Back to the story when the arrival of our new dining table, it came perfectly like this..

Whaddaya think?

I know we have to assemble the table by ourselves because that is what normally online shopping do. However, we never expected they will be fragmented to this mess... O Em Ji!!!

Even we have done few D.I.Y before, but this is absolutely challenging. I had to refer the picture in the catalogued few times so that we could picturize the real one when making of it. To tell you the truth, it wasn't easy. I played my role by reading (and understand) the instructions, then instructed Zaid step by step as directed. So this was the result on Day 1.. Oh didn't i tell u we spent 2 days to do it? O Em Ji again..

Yes, we only managed to assemble ONE bench. Pheww... Finally on the next day, this Mr.& Mrs. D.I.Y successfully assembled everything and this was the result.....

Tada.....

It was my idea to decorate the house (especially the dining) in the style of b&b in England (rustic and english). We were very lucky to get this table on the last day of its offer. The size isn't too chunky yet is able for 6 to 7 sitters. But one thing for sure, no more furniture,pleaseeee! No more space. Rumah kecik aje :)

After A Looooong Disconnection

Salam and hello to all bloggers. I feel like i haven't written for ages and i do miss my blog so damn much. Does any of you miss my writing? Nahh..ferasan! Haha.. Ni semua gara-gara penghijrahan ke tempat baru. Ok, i told you guys in the last entry that we're moving house and on the day we moved in, still there were few things that fair to grump about. Seminggu takde internet okay. And even worst there was no tv aerial. Oh boy, how am I going to watch the royal wedding? We noticed this 2 days before the royal wedding ye puan-puan. Sabo jelah, last-last seb baik dapat pasang semua sehari sebelum royal wedding. Pheww!

Nevertheless, we feel so grateful when everything have been sorted out and now happy living in our new home :) Thanks to The Merciful.

Before we officially move in, we decided to go to Ikea to buy something for our new home. Yes, it's time for the interior part. So we invited Dalina and Jerul to joined us in that mission. But first of all, we had full english breakfast at Frankie & Bennys, needless to say that you'll need full energy to walk around the Ikea, and for us to accomplish that mission too. ;)

Mission accomplished and we successfully bought few things such as curtains and the rods, wall shelves and for our kitchen. Gambar sabau ye tengah pulun mengemas ni. Fuh..fuhh!
